As an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Associate Customer Solutions Manager (CSM) Intern you will work with a team of CSMs responsible for helping guide AWS customers along their multi-year journey to the cloud. You will guide the customer through the operational, educational and governance aspects of a successful AWS cloud journey. In this new, highly visible, role you will incorporate program management, customer cloud journey acceleration, and customer value realization to ensure AWS teams work together effectively and efficiently to deliver outcomes for the customer.
You will interface with customer and AWS leadership, driving collaboration between the other core account groups (Sales, Support, Solutions Architecture, and Professional Services), product/engineering teams, and customer teams, to plan and support major workload migrations. You will help manage cadence through reporting and tracking functions along the way. The execution of education plans, roadmap to business outcome alignments, Executive Briefing Sessions, go-live events and transitions are a few items owned by the CSM team that are critical to the success of our customer's cloud journey.
Your work focuses on external business customers where cloud adoption strategies, outcomes, and programs are defined. You identify opportunities/risks, establish relationships with your customers, engage in constructive discussions, and advise customers on relevant best practices. You stay connected and follow up on customer needs, and with internal teams, to drive positive customer outcomes. You are learning about change management and to ensure that service solutions meet customer needs and goals.
Your technical and program management skills will support your team's operational cadence and ensure initiative and/or project completion. You may make recommendations for improvements, as well as provide input in order to run effective meetings and ensure that concise information is delivered to the correct audience.
Successful candidates will have a technical background, be detail driven, have excellent problem solving abilities, navigate ambiguity, and be exemplary communicators. You should be passionate about delivering a great customer experience and obsessed with contributing to the day-to-day management of the customer's successful migration to AWS.
Amazon internships are full-time (40 hours/week) for 12 consecutive weeks, starting June 2021. Applicants should have at a minimum one quarter/semester remaining after their internship concludes.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS • Currently enrolled in an Associate or greater degree program (e.g., Associate's degree, Bachelor's degree) with a graduation conferral date between August 2021 and June 2022
• Experience with Networking fundamentals, Databases (Relational and/or NoSQL), Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS • Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions to both large and small audiences
• Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution in a school project or while working for a company
• Experience with one or more of the following domains: Big Data, Analytics, Security, DevOps, Application Development, or Machine Learning
• Awareness of AWS or cloud computing
• Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies
• Experience in program and project management fundamentals
