Role Overview

Reporting to the Senior Accountant, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for complex posting and timely payment of invoices for the Toronto Marketing and Sales Office. This position is also responsible for investigating and resolving related queries for both internal and external parties. In addition, the Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for preparing various journal entries and account reconciliations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures.
  • Perform daily accounts payable activities, including coding and entering vendor invoices, matching invoices to accrued costs, and preparing vendor payments.
  • Review invoices to ensure proper authorization in accordance with delegation of authority and company policies.
  • Prepare account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare routine and ad hoc reports as requested by the Senior Accountant.
  • Respond to and resolve accounts payable inquiries from internal stakeholders and external vendors in a professional and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in Accounts Payable, Accounting, or a related finance role.
  • Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Thorough knowledge of Accounts Payable procedures and best practices.
  • Fundamental accounting background or knowledge.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel; SAP experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • A quick learner who is proactive, takes initiative, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.

Pay Range: CAD $59,000 - $73,000 per year

The actual amount offered is determined based on the successful candidate's relevant experience, skills, and competencies and considers internal equity.
