Do you have accounts payable and/or accounts receivable experience? Do you have experience gathering and analyzing information and making discretionary, defensible, and timely decisions? We're looking for an individual to administer our corporate capital asset management system to ensure the accuracy and completeness of asset records and recognize opportunities to improve the classification, disposition, and management of our corporation's assets.
This is a 12-months temporary opportunity in our Accounting Services department.

What you'll do
- Administer the corporate capital asset management system and keep current with policies and procedures relating to corporate asset management, asset expenditures, and asset accounting including business case and capital expense requisition procedures
- Conduct monthly travel and expense reimbursement reviews
- Audit random sample of financial transactions processed by the accounts payable and accounts receivable clerks to ensure they comply with financial policies
- Review self-service submissions by financial service managers, budget coordinators, and other staff to ensure accuracy
- Provide work direction and oversee daily work activities to the assigned team
- Be a floater for positions with the Accounting Services department including positions related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, staff travel and account reconciliations
- Consistently models the appropriate level of organizational behaviours expected of all WorkSafeBC employees: responsive, respectful, fair, collaborative, accountable, and forward thinking.

- Gather and analyze information and, in accordance with standards and guidelines, make discretionary, defensible, and timely decisions
- Exercise judgement in filtering relevant information, analyzing information, identifying existing and potential problems, exploring alternatives, and providing solutions and recommendations
- Convey knowledge to others through training and presentations
- Provide quality customer service exhibiting diplomacy and professionalism
- Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, to a variety of audiences
Your background and experience
- A Bachelor degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or any other related discipline
- Completion of at least Core 1 and 2 of the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA program)
- A minimum of two years of related experience in corporate accounting, with working knowledge of asset management, accounting, and auditing principles and practices

- Extra 4% of your salary in lieu of benefits and 4% in lieu of vacation from the day you start
